Who would want to be me?

It seems that there has been a rash of card fraud and identity theft here in Oregon. Almost everyone I know has been hit by it in the last two weeks. Some actually had money stolen and some (like me) got a call from the bank stating that they disabled my cards because "they had been compromised," though they would not tell me how they knew this if no charges had been made or even how it could have happened.

Headed Home from Long Beach

Well, today is my last day of vacation. Last Saturday, my wife and I headed up to Long Beach, Washington for a week-long stay on the coast. But alas, all good things must come to an end...or something like that..

Harbor Freight Magnesium Fire-starter Review

I recently bought the cheapest magnesium fire-starter I could find. Obviously then it came from Harbor Freight. Everyone's favorite purveyor of tools that are just barely adequate and nothing more. Here I offer my first thoughts on this shiny, new marvel of modern mass-production and third-world labor.

Turtle Turtle

Two tiny little turtles have recently come to be in my care, they are western pond turtles. I was surprised by how very very small they are. I believe them to be about two months old and still no larger then a silver dollar.

Bumper Buddy Grinding (not as bad as it sounds)

Many treat Labor Day Weekend as the summer's final hurrah and escape to the great outdoors with their friends and family. Here at Randomland, we just find something in the yard to attack with an angle grinder (one of my favorite toys!). This time, we decided to help make the Bumper Buddy servicable again.
