VBoxGuestAdditions.iso Missing After Upgrading VirtualBox

This morning I decided to upgrade my copy of Sun's VirtualBox on my Win7 (RC) machine. I had been putting it off for a while but decided it was a good time to do it.

After downloading and installing the new executable, I thought it wise to test my virtual machine was still in working order. It was not, but this fix is simple. I got this error, telling me that the Guest Additions file could not be found:

The fix turns out to be pretty easy -- just update the guest addition ISO location. To do this, go to Settings and click on the CD/DVD-ROM tab on the sidebar.

Edit the mounted ISO image file by clicking on the folder icon. Remove the old VBoxGuestAdditions.iso file and add it back in. The file should be located at C:\Program Files\Sun\VirtualBox\VBoxGuestAdditions.iso.

Save it and start your virtual machine -- everything should be working again Smile Leave a comment if you have any questions or problems.
